Memorial

Maria (Lo Turco) Fleischmann

July 14, 1940 – September 13, 2025

In 1951, when Maria was 11, her parents took the family from Tripoli to Sicily and Malta then boarded a ship for New York before settling in Tucson.

After completing High School, Maria married the love of her life in 1963, and she and Henry moved to Southern California to start their family.

Maria had various jobs through her life including; working as a secretary, a seamstress, and running a daycare business.

She also took care of friends and family, including her father-in-law, father and husband.

She loved to cook and entertain family and friends at their home, making many courses to stuff everyone with happiness and lots of creampuffs almost every other week!

Both Maria and Henry were active in their parishes in Stanton, CA and Tucson Az., especially with the Italian Catholic Federation (ICF).

Maria learned she had colon and liver cancer the same day Henry passed away. After a major surgery to remove the cancerous blockage, she succumbed to the cancer five months later, at a nursing center in Stanton, CA.

Maria is preceded in passing, and was met in Heaven by her beloved husband Henry, her cherished son, Mark, and her parents.

She is survived by, and continuously loved by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kim Fleischmann, her grandchildren, Megan, Grace, and Ethan, her brother, John Lo Turco, her brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Pat Fleischmann, nephews and nieces, goddaughters, godsons and the hundreds of dear friends she made during her short 85 years here. Maria will be loved and missed on this earth for decades by the lives she touched, and she no doubt is being rejoiced in Heaven for her devotion to the Lord.
