Charles “Charlie” E. Hargle, age 77, of Auburn, Washington, passed away on August 9, 2025.

Charlie devoted 44 years of his life to the airline industry, where he was known for his professionalism, strong work ethic, and the deep friendships he built along the way. As a respected mentor and manager, he earned the admiration of colleagues who loved working with—and for—him. His passion for aviation extended beyond his career into his volunteer work at the Museum of Flight, a place that brought him immense joy and connection.

A graduate of Alameda High School in California, Charlie played football, boxed competitively, and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1964. He later served proudly in the United States Coast Guard, an experience that shaped his steady presence, unwavering reliability, and deep sense of duty.

Charlie embraced a lifelong commitment to fitness, forging strong friendships with his workout buddies. A true collector at heart, he filled his shelves with meticulously curated model airplanes, ships, cars, and trains—each a testament to his curiosity and love of detail.

A loyal Seattle Mariners fan, Charlie looked forward to spring training each year. He found joy riding Harley-Davidsons, listening to music, attending concerts, and camping in the great outdoors. Some of his favorite moments were spent at home, with dogs curled up in his lap, watching classic Westerns. He also loved cruising with friends and family—his signature laugh often echoing down the halls.

Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Darlene; his daughter Wendy (Robbin) Pennell; his sister Betty Pedro; five stepchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and many extended family members and cherished friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charlie lived fully, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy of strength, humor, generosity, and unforgettable memories.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
