She took all her girls as her own in her heart till the end
Marlene Elizabeth Silva was born April 18 th, 1935, in Long Beach, CA.She passed away in her home in Gig Harbor on August 17 th, 2025. She was 90 years old.Attending Cal Poly University and finally Washington State University graduating in home economics.She lived in many places raising her family and found home in Gig Harbor Washington in 1967.She became a woman of the community giving to many girls by becoming a girl scout leader. She took all her girls as her own in her heart till the end. Ski school chaperone ,seamstress, and powder puff mechanic.After life changes, she found her life in many directions, working as a substitute teacher, teaching and giving her skills in home education and anything she was asked.She found herself at the Port of Tacoma, then decided computers were the way to go leading her to L.H. Bates Vocational School. She was to be the perfect fit for Ideal machine in Tacoma, where she stayed until retirement.Atlas Foundry, Ideal Machine, they were all her boys. She found her husband Darrel Silva and married till his death from cancer.Her years were a dedication to her Washington State University alumni cougar pride and her games. She cheered as their number one fan, coach and biggest critic. No interrupting Saturday football.She was preceeded in death by her oldest daughter Bonnie Jean Maneja.She leaves her daughters Sandy Lee Lewis, Katherine Anne McMillan, and Karen Elizabeth McMillan.Her grandchildren, Jennifer Maneja, Jeremy Maneja, Katelyn Mearig,Greg Meline, Ashley Mellum, and several great grandchildren.There is no service upon her request to have those she enjoyed as she was living.May those of the family be comforted in knowing they were in her thoughts to her last days. May peace find you all.
