Alan "Al" Kwiatkowski

Alan Kwiatkowski, 73, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Jefferson Memory Care facility beside his wife, Sylvia. “Al” was born on October 1, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Walter and Katherine (Samars) Kwiatkowski.

In 1972, in Chicago, Al welcomed his son, Jeremy, into the world. In the summer of 1981 Al married Sylvia Marez. Together in 1981, they welcomed their son, Justin.

Al worked at Watertown Metals where he and Sylvia made their home. While in Watertown, he was the 1983-84 Grand Bowling Champion. He attempted to go pro for the PBA qualifiers in 1985, but it wasn’t meant to be. He was on a bowling team with Steve Uttech, who became a lifelong friend and whose wives did the same. They often went to many blues and rock concerts together over the years. 

He devoted 31 years to OSI where he retired in 2021. Al was such a dedicated and hard worked. When Al started working for OSI it was originally called “rediserve” until OSI eventually took over the corporation.  

Al devoted a great deal of time to his number one love, fishing. Some even think he was born with a fishing pole in his hand. He also had a great passion for his beloved, Chicago Cubs....even before they finally won the World Series. His love for baseball extended into the team he formed, the Redi serv team, where his friend, Luis and his best friend, Roberto played.

Al was super close to his neighbors Hjalmar “Jelly” and Jan Roelke. Al and The Roelke’s were neighbors for 20 years. Together they enjoyed talking about the Cubs games and would sit across from each other’s garages listening to the game, and drinking an ice cold beer.  

Family was incredibly important to Al- fishing with his dad, his brothers, and sister, Sharon- with whom he was close during childhood; gatherings of extended family for Packers vs. Bears games; and especially the extraordinary bond he had with his grandson, Thai, who has been an unwavering support. Together they fished, played baseball in the backyard, went on trips to Chicago to visit his cousin, Julie, attended Brewers games regularly, and went out to eat chicken wings at Fat Boyz as often as possible. 

Al was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Marciano “Rocky” Marez- another concert buddy; his friends, Roberto De Leon and Steve Uttech; and his loyal and loving companions, Hans and Mona.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; his sons, Jeremy (Nicole) and Justin; his grandchildren: Jessie James, Samantha, Max, Thai, Jenny, Michelle, Julie, and Nona; his siblings: Wayne (Lori), Sandra (Kevin), Sharon (Rick), Dale (Barb), and Pamela (Dennis); his in-laws, Rose (Jim), Virginia (Raul), Phil (Tracy), and Alicia (Austin); as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends; and his new loyal and loving companions, Mary Jane and Mazzy.

A visitation for Al will be on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, W4875 US-18, Jefferson, WI 53549.
