Mary Maxine Gerring, passed away October 3, 2025, in Yuba City, CA, at the age of 92.
Maxine was born in Grundy County Missouri, January 1933, to Ernest and Myrtle (Barnett) Johnson and was the youngest of seven children. Her siblings were Richard, Melvin, Kenneth, Katherine, Frank and Ernest (Junior).
She moved to California in 1951, married Joe Taylor in 1952 and had a son Gary Taylor in 1957. Later she married Glenn Gerring. After Glenn's passing she re connected with JR Livingston, an old school chum from Missouri.
She was preceded in death by all of the above. She is survived by nieces and nephews , grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
Maxine and her husband Glenn Gerring loved to travel and loving the beautiful beaches and warm weather, they would make a trip to Mexico almost every winter. She would gather seashells while down in Mexico and turned them into beautiful creations and sold them at local craft fairs.
Maxine loved to play cards and loved to dance. She belonged to the Yuba City Moose Lodge and loved going to Taco Tuesday dinners, Sunday morning breakfasts, Bingo, every month's birthday dinner/dance and any other dances they would have. She and her dance partner Don (Irish) Carr would tear up the dance floor at these dances.
Maxine enjoyed her time living at Del Prado Mobile Home Park. She loved the holiday parties where she liked to dress up for the occasion and also playing Bingo with the other residents. She always talked about her weekly exercise classes and relished her time chatting with the ladies of the park.
There will be a graveside ceremony held by Ullery Memorial Chapel at the Sutter Cemetery on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10 a.m.
