Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Homes - Syracuse
Barbara "Barb" Collins
January 25th, 1955 - October 7th, 2025
Barbara "Barb" Collins, 70, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Syracuse, Barb was a lifelong resident of the Valley and Southside neighborhoods.
Barb was an avid and skilled pitch player as well as a proud and passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Eagles. Her favorite days were "deck days" spent with friends and neighbors basking in sunshine and laughter. Barb had a deep love for animals, but none held a more special place in her heart than Buddy and PK.
She is survived by her husband Patrick Collins, brother Richard (Victoria) Emmerth, sister Lorie Miller, son Jeremy Hennessy, stepdaughter Jessica Collins (Joshua Shoff), grandsons Bodie Shoff and Sawyer Shoff, many nieces and nephews, and best friends Karen Hennessy Devan and Rita Schneider.
She was predeceased by her mother Margaret Laundergan, her brother Duane Ingersoll, her sister Sharon Cleary, and her first husband Michael Hennessy.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 15, from 3–5 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow from 5–8 p.m. at Swallows, where friends and family are invited to share memories, laughs, and raise a cold one in Barb’s honor.
