Jay David Ballard passed away peacefully at his home in Pacific Grove on October 4, 2025, at the age of 54. A beloved and well-known local butcher, Jay was a customer favorite who was admired for his exceptional skill, easygoing nature, and unforgettable sense of humor. His amazing personality and quick wit made every interaction a memorable one, and he brought laughter and warmth to all who knew him. Jay is survived by his daughters, Callie and Lacey, and his son, Jayden; his mother, Inge; his siblings, Mellony, Tammy (Robert), Jennifer, Jeff (Jamie), and John (Shelley); and his longtime partner, Annie. He also leaves behind his wonderful nieces and nephews, many cousins and extended family members who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, John Sr., and his brother, Tony. Memorial service details will be announced at a later date.
