Billie Jean Mellies, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on September 25, 2025, at the age of 84. Born to William and Gladys Frost on May 30, 1941, in Boise, Idaho, Billie was raised on the family farm in Eagle, where she learned the values of hard work and compassion.

After graduating from Meridian High School in 1959, Billie continued her education at Saint Alphonsus School of Nursing, graduating with high honors in 1962. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, LeeRoy Mellies, through mutual friends. They were married on August 4, 1962, and raised two children, Andrea Jo and Roy Bradley. Though she transitioned to a stay-at-home mother, Billie never truly left her nursing profession behind. She dedicated countless hours to volunteering at blood drives, tirelessly giving her time and donating many pints of her own blood.

A woman of deep faith, Billie was a lifelong member of the Eagle Methodist Church, now Eagle Hills Church, and found immense comfort in her spiritual devotion. She will be greatly remembered for her legendary home-canned dill pickles, a testament to her nurturing nature and a beloved gift she shared with everyone she loved.

Billie is survived by her brother, Lee (Jeanie) Frost; her daughter, Andrea (Bill) Curtis; her son, Roy Mellies; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, LeeRoy.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Meridian Ancora Hospice and Edgewood Spring Creek – Ustick Assisted Living for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Eagle Hills Church or a charity of your choice.
