It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of VaNee Lynn Williams, 64, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. On October 1, 2025, she passed away at home with her loving husband, Michael, by her side.
Born on May 29th in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Ronald Slowik and her late mother Claudia Slowik, VaNee was the sister to Vicki Troutman and Don Slowik. She graduated from Enid High School and spent time working at Vance Air Force Base, where she made lasting friendships that would come back around later in life.
In 1986, she married Roy Heitfeld, who preceded her in death. They enjoyed 23 years together before his passing. Together they built a life with their children VaLeene Herdlicka and Louis Heitfeld. During this time she enjoyed being a mother, creating unique birthday cakes, knitting and crocheting, cooking family meals, and working in book keeping on the side.
With children grown and an empty house, VaNee had the fortune of reconnecting with Michael Wililams in 2011, who fit right into her life as her best friend and soulmate. In 2013, together with family and friends, they got married and started the next chapter of their journey together.
Their connection was timeless, and they shared many of VaNee’s favorite pastimes together; traveling to Estes Park and staying at the Stanley Hotel, visiting the Garden of the Gods, celebrating holidays with family, and spending quiet evenings simply enjoying each other’s company. Over the years, they also cherished watching their grandchildren, Kayla, Ezra, Dylan, Maycie, Sean, Briley, Jayden, Audrey, and Maddi, thrive and grow.
VaNee was a special soul whose love spilled into all aspects of life. Whether she was knitting a blanket for her kids or grandkids, making dinner for the family, or enjoying the beauty of nature, her love and heart shone through. Not only are her family and friends devastated by the loss of a beautiful soul, but also her coworkers with whom she has connected with over the past decade at EviCorp remember her fondly and mourn her passing. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her loved ones touched everyone who knew her.
Services will be held at a later date. Her love, laughter, and kindness will live on in our hearts, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
