A Life Well Lived
Virginia “Tootsie” Stultz brought joy and creativity to everything she touched.
While living in Paradise, California, she discovered her love for ceramics — creating beautiful pieces that she proudly displayed and sold at the Butte County Fair.
After she and her husband, Warren, moved to Crescent City, Toots’ talents continued to shine. Her homemade pickles, jams, and jellies won several ribbons at the Del Norte County Fair.
She found peace in the simple joys of life — knitting blankets and pillows for loved ones, tending the garden, and spending hours canning alongside Warren.
Although the move to Crescent City was for Warren’s love of fishing, Toots found her own joy there too. While he fished from the beach, they would walk together searching for agates — tiny treasures tucked into the sand. One unforgettable day, while walking with her grandson Ben, a killer whale rushed up onto the shore. Thinking fast, she grabbed Ben out of harm’s way — a story forever retold as a reflection of her quick thinking, courage, and love.
Virginia and Warren shared a lifetime of love and devotion, having been married on May 12, 1951 and were nearing 75 years of marriage — a remarkable bond built on laughter, hard work, and faithfulness through all seasons of life.
Forever in Our Hearts
Her laughter, kindness, and strength will continue to live on through those who loved her.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Warren Stultz; her children Lee Stultz, Tavie Demaree, and Lon Stultz; as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, whose lives have been deeply touched by her love.
