Linda Ann Rousselle Stookey
April 10th, 1946 - October 9th, 2025
Linda Ann Rousselle Stookey, 79, passed away on October 9, 2025 surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. Linda was the oldest of four children born to Virgil and Dott Rousselle on April 10, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Linda graduated class of 1964 from West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. In January 29, 1965 Linda married her eternal partner, David Gray Stookey, and had 12 children.
In addition to being a wonderful Mother and Homemaker she was a Para Education working with the Auburn school district until her retirement in 2005. Linda was creative, talented, hardworking and passionate. She was an outstanding seamstress. She made cloth books with interactive learning tools to teach children dexterity skills. She also made clothes for her children, doll clothes, blankets, pillow play pads, prom dresses, and many beautiful wedding gowns.
She was a talented piano player and teacher. Linda had an outstanding ability to recognize needs in her community and taught her children to serve others. She often had collections of blankets, clothes, shoes and coats that she would provide to those in need. Most of all, Linda was a great listener. She had daily conversations with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband, David Gray Stookey, her children, David (Kelly) Stookey, Bryan Stookey, Taña (Ken) Ridens, Sheryl (Frank) Hoffman, Brenda Stookey, Julie (JJ) Fuller, Steven Stookey, Craig (Catherine) Stookey, Crin ( Michael) Danielson, Sandra (Tony) DePiano, Lawrence (Leona) Stookey, her grandchildren (42), her great grandchildren (28 and counting) and her sister Nancy (Dan) Jones. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Dott Rousselle, her siblings, Karen Paxton and John Rousselle and her son, Clifford Stookey.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 24, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 1820 F St. SE Auburn, WA. 98002 Viewing 9-10:30am Funeral Service 11-12pm
