In Loving Memory of Claudette Mary Martinez

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Claudette Mary Martinez, age 61, of Espanola, New Mexico. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado surrounded by loved ones on October 13th 2025, after a 5 year battle with cancer.

Claudette was the beloved daughter of Susana Arguello and Clyde Martinez Sr. The loving sister of Joe Martinez, Clyde Martinez Jr., Kenneth Martinez, Erica Sanchez, and Stephanie Martinez. She was a devoted mother to Sophia Maez, Tommy Maez Jr., and Jena Martinez. Most of all, a proud grandmother to Louie Ornelas Jr., Zion Ornelas, Charlie Sherbak, and Amaris Martinez-Dowden — her “babies,” who brought endless joy and laughter to her life.

Claudette served her country honorably in the United States Army and later built a career at Atmel Corporation. She also worked as a Shoe-shiner at the Airport and Rodeo where she was admired for her hospitality, great conversations, dedication, and hard work.

She lived life with joy and passion — always ready to dance, travel, go to concerts, or simply spend precious time with her family and grandchildren. Her fun-loving spirit shined through in her love for anime and video games.

Above all, Claudette was a woman of faith. A devoted Catholic, she carried her belief in God close to her heart, finding strength and comfort in her prayers.

Her beautiful soul, generous heart, and fiery spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Though she has left this world, the warmth of her love will live on forever in our hearts.

A mass will be held at Divine Redeemer Church at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, November 10th 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Furthermore, there will be a Celebration of Life Reception at VFW Post 101 at 3:00 p.m. to honor and remember Claudette’s incredible journey and the love she shared with us all.
