Marilyn Miller passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on December 14, 1940, in Independence, Kansas, to parents Floyd and Ruth Heath (née Brown).
Marilyn's career spanned managing a multi-million-dollar trucking company, to co-owning her own trucking company, and running various offices. She was a former President Wisconsin Transportation Club- Milwaukee, Milwaukee Cartage Exchange Board Member, Central States Transportation Conference Former Vice President and Secretary, Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity member, Milwaukee Soroptimist International former President and Treasurer, Professional Secretaries International member and Office Managers of Milwaukee member. She lovingly helped her parents when their health began to fail, and it aided in her later educational aspirations. In her 60's she earned a master’s degree in social work, specializing in Alzheimer's and Hospice care. Marilyn again was a care giver of her late husband.
Marilyn had a deep love for music and was especially fond of singing, especially Christmas carols and campfire songs. She enjoyed oil painting and showcased her artwork at the Wauwatosa Library as a member of the Wauwatosa Art Guild. She devoted many years to being both a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. Wanting to bring more joy to her troop gatherings, she took guitar lessons so she could sing around the campfire. Marilyn was also talented in playing the piano and organ. If you were lucky enough to know her, you would be sung the birthday song by her at the top of her lungs. In addition to her musical gifts, she enjoyed bowling and for years was a proud member of a local bowling team. She had a playful side as well, often found enjoying games like Pac-Man—and for many years. Joining her adult kids in her seventies as a way to connect weekly with them she played the online computer game World of Warcraft. Other unique interests of Marilyn were Past Lives Regression and becoming a Master Reike Healer.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her children, Elizabeth (John) Lamberty of Oconomowoc, WI; Kathleen (Rob) Schmitt of Milwaukee, WI; and Doug (Lynn) Raymer of Owensboro, KY; her grandchildren, Kayla and Robert; her sister-in-law, Carolyn; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnnie Lee Raymer, and her second husband, Lewis Lon Miller.
Private services were held.
