Joe Eugene Boone
June 12th, 1950 - October 17th, 2025
Joe Boone, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver on October 17, 2025.
Born in Denver, Colorado on June 12, 1950, to Howard Vernon Boone and Zenith Bernice Mack. Joe grew up in North Denver and attended as well as graduated from North High School in 1968.
In 1969, Joe enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably as a SPC 5 for meritorious service as a Welder in Okinawa. He received a National Defense Service Medal. He returned to Colorado at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. Once discharged, he joined the Reserves for 5 years.
It was during his service in Colorado that he met his wife, Wendy Van Harte. They were married on April 6, 1974. Together they shared 51 years of marriage. They loved weekends in the mountains and traveling.
Joe worked for Samsonite, Coors, the Rocky Mountain News and Sherwin Williams until he retired.
Joe is survived by his wife Wendy, son Jeremy Boone, daughter Heather Ruddell, son-in-law Brian Ruddell, and granddaughter Ashlynn Ruddell. He is proceeded in death by his parents Howard and Zenith Boone, infant son Howard Boone and adopted parents Dan and Goldie Feigt.
Joe was known for his extraordinary sense of humor! He loved practical Jokes, a good game of cards, and laughing with friends and family.
Internment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, located at 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, Colorado
