Douglas "Doug" James Hoff
March 15th, 1954 - October 19th, 2025
Douglas James Hoff passed away on October 19, 2025 after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis. He was born on March 15, 1954 in Tacoma, the fourth son of Betty and Gerald Hoff.
Doug graduated from Federal Way High School in 1972 and Washington State University in 1976, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He began his banking career in Tacoma at Puget Sound Bank, for which he transferred to Shelton in 1986, eventually retiring from West Coast Bank in 2000. In Shelton, Doug participated in Skookum Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, Forest Festival and the EDC.
In younger days, Doug enjoyed softball with his friends, golfing, spending family time at his brothers’ cabin on Treasure Island, Oysterfest, and watching the Mariners and WSU football. More recently, he looked forward to weekly Scrabble games with Betty and Wayne.
Doug was predeceased by his father, Gerald E. Hoff, mother Betty L. Selden, and brother Gerald H. (Bud) Hoff. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy, son Greg (Stacy), daughter Laura (Jace Waterman), two grandsons Samuel and Arthur Hoff, as well as brothers Brian (Sallaye) and Wayne, and nieces Kelley Flamoe and Amber Hoff.
The family wishes to thank the kind staff at Agility Health and Rehabilitation in University Place and Michelle Hudson, ARNP for their excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, Doug would appreciate donations to UNICEF, the ACLU, or a charity of your choice
