Charles "Skip" B. Pettit, Jr.

GLOVERSVILLE- Charles B. "Skip" Pettit, Jr., 87, passed away on October 27, 2025 at Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home in Gloversville. Born August 14, 1938 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Charles B. Pettit, Sr. and Marion DeLong Pettit. He was a lifelong Gloversville resident and attended local schools. Charles was employed at F. Rulison & Sons and Johnstown Leather, both in Johnstown, NY. He loved hunting, fishing, working, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, the late Marilyn Woodcock Pettit and his siblings: Orville Pettit, Ronald Pettit and Robert Pettit. Survivors include three sons: Charles B. Pettit III (Sherry), Brian S. Pettit, Sr. (Shelley) and Luke E. Pettit (Sara), all of Gloversville; two daughters: Wendy S. Davis (Wayne Viele) of Lake Luzerne and Amy V. Squillace (Jason) of Amsterdam and one brother, Thomas Pettit of Ballston Spa. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. It was Charles' request that a private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Gansevoort Cemetery.
