All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
James "Jim" Allan Brenneman
May 23rd, 1939 - October 22nd, 2025
James Allan Brenneman “Jim”, age 86, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Englewood, Colorado.
Jim was born on May 23, 1939, in Joetown, Iowa, to Henry and Minnie (Knepp) Brenneman. He was the youngest of nine children. He attended Brush #8 School and Iowa Mennonite School, graduating in 1958. After high school, he attended the Reisch School of Auctioneering.
Jim served two years in Mennonite Voluntary Service at Frontier Boys Village in Divide, Colorado, after which he attended the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs campus, graduating in 1969 with a B.A. in Social Work. He then attended the University of Denver, graduating in 1971 with an M.A. in Social Work with a specialization in Psychotherapy. During this time, he also married his best friend, Eunice Yoder Brenneman.
Jim worked for the Jefferson County, Colorado, School District as a school social worker for 27 years. During his time in the public schools and after retirement, he also worked as an auctioneer for Linnebur Auction Company in Byers, Colorado, and was inducted into the Colorado Auctioneers Hall of Fame in 2005.
Jim was heavily involved in his church, Glennon Heights Mennonite Church, as well as with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and Ten Thousand Villages. He sat on and chaired many committees within these organizations and was instrumental in planning and conducting the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Relief Sale benefiting MCC—a project he was involved with from its inception.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting for elk, moose, and antelope was a favorite fall pastime. Jim and Eunice loved camping and fishing in Colorado’s great outdoors and enjoyed bird watching as well.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Minnie (Knepp) Brenneman; sisters Ada Fisher, Blanche Brenneman, Irene Brenneman, and Virginia Ann Ryan; and brothers Dave Brenneman, Dan Brenneman, and Wallace “Wally” Brenneman. He is survived by his wife, Eunice (Yoder) Brenneman; sister Lois Gugel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Jim on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Glennon Heights Mennonite Church in Lakewood, Colorado. Donations can be made to Mennonite Central Committee at www.mcc.org in Jim’s name.
We will miss Jim for his kind, gentle spirit; his commitment to service and helping others; his slow, deliberate storytelling with a toothpick in his mouth; and his deep and unwavering love for his wife, Eunice.
