Larry E. Peeler

Larry Eugene Peeler, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his home in Tampa, Florida. Larry was born on December 8, 1947, in Newark, New Jersey, to Amos Peeler and Eva Lee Alford White.

He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army from 1966 to 1970.

Following his military service, Larry worked as a television technician for Eastside T.V. Repair. On March 16, 2009, he married the love of his life, Mary A. (Bishop) Peeler, who remained a devoted and loving wife, especially throughout his 16 years of illness, ensuring he always had the care and comfort he needed.

Larry was an avid New York Giants fan who enjoyed reading—particularly novels by James Patterson—and spending time watching movies. Above all, his greatest joy came from his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mary, Larry is survived by his children, Heather (Dale) Cunningham, Joseph Peeler, Tamika (Dorain) Coleman, and Matthew (Chloe) Peeler; his sister, Rose (Chico) Bilal; ten grandchildren, with one on the way; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Florida Mortuary Funeral and Cremation Service, 4601 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa, FL 33603. Funeral services will follow on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Larry will be laid to rest with Valor and Military Honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, on Friday, November 7, at 12:30 p.m.
