Cora Rupp-Merritt
October 30th, 1944 - October 3rd, 2025
In God’s care, you rest above. In our hearts, you live with love.
In Loving Memory :
Cora was born to Jack and Esther Armstrong in Portland, Oregon on October 30, 1944. She passed away on October 3. 2025 at the age of 80 in her hometown.
She is survived by daughters Jacqueline Glenn and Kristenlee Morton, grand kids Tanya & Ryan Montgomery, great-grandkids Gage, Roselani, Samantha, and Angevelle. She loved to see Gage play piano and truly lit up with warmth when he would play his recitals. She had an extended family of children that she loved dearly and took care of, and always had an open door policy.
Cora lived and laughed with joy, loved camping - being a Camp Post Host @ Oxbow Park for a few years , she loved fishing, once on the cover of The Oregonian / Living Section for Mother’s Day for a record number of Trout caught with her son Nick. She loved sewing - where she once dreamed of being a fashion designer and created some of her children’s clothes for school. Cora enjoyed traveling to support her fun creative small business "Little Eclectic Shop" where she enjoyed traveling with her grand-kids Ryan and Tanya, meeting designers at events.
She supported many local charities and volunteered at OMSI. Cora and her children all worked with her at one point at AKA Business Services where she was a force to work with - laughed a lot about the job and has many fond memories of her friends and time there. Cora enjoyed spending time with long time best-friend Ellery Mortensen, playing cribbage and drinking coffee many a day.
Cora had a loving and strong devotion to her family and her faith - where she was blessed by such a wonderful church community. Whether she was crafting a sewing project together with her grand-daughter Tanya at church with friends, or hanging for bible study events, she cherished the friendships.
Cora loved learning, and achieved an associate's degree in her 60's to further her interest in accounting working at H&R Block as a tax accountant.
Her tombstone reads 'NEVER GIVE UP".
Cora loved and was loved by many and will be missed dearly forever and always.
