Chris was born and raised in Clayton County, Georgia, on April 26, 1984 He built a family of friends who cherished his company. He was someone who found joy in the simple things—fishing, riding bikes, watching football, and soaking in the beauty of beaches, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, and sunsets. Chris loved exploring new places, attending festivals, and sharing laughter and good food, especially a great steak, with those he cared about.

Nine years ago, he moved to California in search of new opportunities. He started as a cook, returned to painting, and eventually became chief engineer at a resort and hotel. Chris was proud of his work and loved using his hotel perks to help friends travel and experience new adventures. If he had the means, he would always reach out to treat those he loved to the things and experiences that brought them joy—whether it was a good meal, entertainment, or a warm, comfortable place to rest, always accompanied by conversation and laughter. Honoring his memory in this way means so much to all who knew him.

In California, he found more freedom and happiness, and even brought his mom out to join him before she passed. He honored his parents by laying them to rest in the ocean and river, surrounded by trees—a place he also wished to be set free. Chris’s passing was sudden and unexpected, either his last communications with his friends in the evening of October 8, 2025. He is preceded in death my his parents Mary and Mike Walker, his Sister April, His Grandparents, Best friend Brian Hill and many other loved ones. He leaves behind memories with all of his dearest loved ones in California and Georgia.

Healey Mortuary

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
