Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson
Diane Kay Thormann
June 2nd, 1944 - October 28th, 2025
Diane Kay (Beck) Thormann, 81, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. She was born on June 2, 1944, in Watertown, WI to the late LeRoy and Adeline (Schroeder) Beck. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Fort Atkinson. She later attended Lakeside Lutheran High School.
On November 16, 1963, she wed the love of her life, Albert Thormann, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson (after a delay due to the start of deer season!) This union was blessed with their only child, John.
During her working years, Diane held various positions throughout the Fort Atkinson community. Her favorite job was working as a food provider at the St. Paul’s School.
Diane was an avid reader; she liked her slot machines; and she liked spending time at the campground Up North, and she liked sharing her love of cooking and baking with family and friends. She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Adeline; her brothers, Fred (Judy) Beck and Wayne “Butch” Beck; her brother-in-law, Bob Moore; and her daughter-in-law, Lyn Thormann.
Diane is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Al; her son, John (Tara Troemel); her sister, Barb Moore; her grandchildren, Tyler (Veronica) and Mason (Hope); her 7 great-grandchildren; and well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like extend a special thank you to the staff of Rainbow Hospice for their kindness and dedicated care. They would also like to acknowledge, with great appreciation, the attentiveness and compassion they received from Nurse V at the Fort Atkinson Medical Center Emergency Room.

We Entrusted Diane Thormann's Care To
Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson
We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community for over 90 years, when Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. In 1984, his son Russ knew it was time to offer professional, compassionate services to the Fort Atkinson community, and we constructed a new funeral home to address its needs. We feel so fortunate to be a part of the community, and have grown our family alongside the community for three generations....
