He had a heart of Gold and his word meant everything.
Kenneth King, a long time Brevard resident passed into the heavenly arms of our Lord, Monday October 27, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. During his 85 years, he was many things to so many people. He was a son, brother, husband, Dad, Granddaddy, uncle, friend and mentor. He had a heart of Gold and his word meant everything.
Born May 16,1940 in Graham, NC, he was the youngest of 10 children born to Omer Dell King Sr. and Lala Frances King. In 1958 he joined the US Navy where he traveled to many places. While stationed at Observation Island in Port Canaveral, he found his Paradise in Cocoa Beach. He also found and married the love of his life, Sue King. He was long time member of First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach, Canaveral Masonic Lodge # 339, Order of Eastern Star #297 and Azan Shrine Temple.
He worked as a master builder and then later at the Kennedy Space Center as a calibrations engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, of 62 years; 2sisters: Gena Boswell, and Mary Ellen Crumpton, of North Carolina; and 3 wonderful children: Kenny King, Lisa Ream and Karen Holley (Rick). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Ty Johnson (Kaylee), Korey King, Lauren Holley, Chelsea King, Austin Holley, Jacob Ream, and Chloe Ream; and 4 great grandchildren: Luther James, James Johnson, Lily Johnson, and Silas Dixon.
