Mary Camden Williams Tyree went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home on October 31, 2025. A longtime resident of Lynchburg, VA, Mary was born on February 2, 1933 to James Ransell Williams and Jessie Camden Williams in Madison Heights, VA.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Milton Tyree, sisters Hazel Alvey, Lois Huff, Minabelle Arthur, and Sterling Fitzgerald, and brothers James R. Williams Jr. and Edward Williams.
Mary is survived by her brother Russell Williams (wife Janice), daughter Deborah Farthing Chaffin (husband Richard), sons Robert M. Tyree Jr. and Mark A Tyree (wife Terry), daughters-in-law Hazel Tyree and Penny Tyree, four grandchildren, Hunter Tyree (wife Rebecca), Robert A. Tyree, Lucky Tyree, Chynna Gross, and four great-grandchildren, Averie Tyree, Abel Tyree, Holden Tyree, and Beckett Tyree.
Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, loyal sister, and a true friend. She will be remembered for her kind and caring nature and her love for helping others. Mary loved our Lord Jesus Christ and loved others unconditionally with all her heart and soul. Mary was a long-time member of Court Street United Methodist Church, member of the Women’s Club of Lynchburg and the American Legion Post 116.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at Diuguid Funeral Service Chapel, 21914 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg VA, on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Matt Heckman conducting the service. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 12:45 P.M. Burial following at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers: Robert Tyree, Mark Tyree, Hunter Tyree, Robert A Tyree, Lucky Tyree, Richard Chaffin
