Philip Patrick Harris, 68, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2025.
Philip devoted more than five decades of his life to the medical field, serving with care, compassion, and dedication. He worked as a Medication Aide at Rivera Assisted Living and spent 15 years in Cardiology at Memorial Hospital, where he was admired by both coworkers and patients for his kindness and professionalism.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Philip served his country honorably from 1979 to 1982. After his military service, he continued giving back to his community as a volunteer football coach at Memorial Park for eight years and as a volunteer with Memorial Hospital’s Men’s Basketball League.
Outside of his work and volunteerism, Philip found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved sports, fishing, working on jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with his beloved pets. His laughter, patience, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Philip is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Harris; siblings Yolanda Harris, John Harris, Gregory Harris, and Elliott Harris; children Philip Harris Jr., Felicia Harris, Erica Harris, Charles Standridge, and Denard Thompson; grandchildren Amari, Jacob, Calysia, Elijah, Ariya, Genesis, Nathaniel, and Isaiah; and great-grandson Quincy.
A man of deep faith, Philip was a devoted Catholic whose life reflected his belief in service, love, and community.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at All Veterans Burial & Cremation, 1020 E Fillmore St., Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
Philip will be remembered with love for his dedication to helping others, his kindness, and the joy he brought to his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
