James "JD" David Story, born on May 4, 1935, in Hahira, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, in Perry, Georgia, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose kindness and loyalty touched the hearts of many. A graveside service will be held in JD's honor on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Magnolia Park Cemetery, located at 205 S. Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088. All who knew and loved JD are invited to join his family in celebrating a life well-lived.

After serving honorably in the United States Army, JD would often return to South Georgia during military leaves to lend a hand on the family farm during gathering seasons. Following his honorable discharge, he and Jenelle relocated to Macon, Georgia, where JD began a career at a manufacturing plant. Eventually, they settled in Centerville, Georgia, where they created countless memories together. JD was known for his unwavering loyalty and kind-hearted nature. His life was a testament to the values of family and community. He cherished every moment spent in the company of his loved ones, sharing stories and laughter that will resonate for generations to come. Up until the end, JD maintained his faith, grace, compassion, his love of family and friends, and he expressed gratitude for his long life, which was full of wonderful and varied experiences.

JD is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Jenelle; two sons, David (Sharon) and Brian Story; and his cherished grandchildren, Virginia Miller, Rebecca (Kevin) Smisko, Mary, Davey, John, Hunter, and Heather. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Joseph, Jonah, Brilynn, Mia, Natalie, David, and Elizabeth. JD's family tree also includes his brother, Freddie (Marliyn) Story; sister, Margaret (Danny) Lowery; sister-in-law, Elaine Van Brackle; and a host of nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Story and Eulee Glass Story, and his brother, Herman Story.

We find comfort in knowing that dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
