After a lifetime of travel and worldly adventures our beloved John “Papa” Henry Prieth left us for his eternal escapades on October 28, 2025 with his wife by his side.

John was born January 14, 1951 in Palo Alto, California, to Benedict Prieth and Elarae Kent. He was preceded in death by his father, Benedict, mother, Elarae, and brother, Bennie.

He leaves behind his wife and worldwide travel partner of 47 years, Jeri Prieth, adored daughter Rachel Prieth-Abrahams, loved son-in-law Phil Abrahams, and precious granddaughter, Cadence Abrahams. He also leaves behind his kind hearted sister, Mary Prieth and her generous partner, Alfredo Herrera.

John dreamed from a young age in California of finding his way around the world and successfully did so by living in Panama, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Greenland, Egypt, and Afghanistan along with taking many amazing vacations and cruises to multiple stunning locations with his family. He was most proud of his trip to Nepal, getting to fly on Yeti airlines, and seeing Mount Everest.

When he wasn’t traveling, John loved to putter around his garden, smoke cigars, drink unique beers, watch anything related to nature, the Romans, and World War II documentaries, cook, and spend quality time with his neighbors, Bob and Margaret Moore. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a past Grand Knight.

His career included serving as an officer in the United States Air Force, working in logistics, management, and contracts management around the world along with many years as a contractor at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, from 4:00PM-6:00PM at Beachside Funeral Home, 1689 South Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul society at Holy Name of Jesus, 3050 N Hwy A1A, Indialantic.
