In loving memory of our mother, Indira Lonsdale, a long time resident of Columbia, SC who passed away quietly on November 3, 2025. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Indira was born on August 23, 1936 in Liverpool, UK to parents, Ethel “Jesse” Moolgoaker (née Wallace) and Suri Moolgoaker. She was the youngest of four siblings: Ronald, Arnold and Raymond.

She spent the first 30 years of her life in and around Burnley, UK, before moving to the US with her then husband Ken Lonsdale (deceased) and three small children. She was always a creative person and had a passion for the arts which led her to a career in costume design for television and films, as well as the South Carolina Ballet in Columbia.

Indira is survived by her three children: Bernadette Tolley (Jim), Howard (Carrie), and Duncan Lonsdale (Liz), and seven grandchildren: Christopher, Willem, Kristin, Kira, Alexander, Anthony and Deanna Lonsdale.

Funeral services will be private.
