Marthanne "Granny" Augustin (née Clemons), age 86, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. Born on August 23, 1939, in Plant City, Florida, a graduate of Brewster Vocational High School. Marthanne lived a life rooted in faith, family, and creativity.

Throughout her life, Marthanne was known for her warmth and generosity. She had a natural gift for making others feel welcome and loved—her presence could light up any room. Affectionately known as "Granny," she embraced her role as the heart of her family with grace and strength.

Marthanne was a devoted mother to her sons Tim Rutherford and John Thorpe and cherished her relationship with her son-in-law JR Bischof as well as her sister Susan Kaiser. Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren—Savanna, Griffin, Justin, Schuyler, and Ashley—and to her great-granddaughter Callie. She held each of them close to her heart and took immense joy in their lives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob Augustin; her daughter Suzanne Bischof; and her brother and sister Jerry Clemons and Justine Stewart. Their memories remained ever-present in Marthanne’s heart.

A woman of deep faith, Marthanne was actively involved in church communities throughout her life. Most recently, she attended Awaken Church in Tifton, GA., and was a life-long Catholic.  Her devotion extended beyond Sunday services—she participated regularly in Bible study groups and volunteered with children’s church activities—always eager to lend a hand or offer encouragement.

Marthanne expressed herself through crafting, sewing, and cooking amazing meals, as well as gardening. Her hands were rarely still. Whether stitching quilts or creating handmade gifts, she poured love into every detail. She also enjoyed playing games with friends and family, and finding joy in laughter-filled gatherings that brought everyone closer together.

As the matriarch of her family, Marthanne led by example—with empathy, thoughtfulness, and unwavering support for those she loved. Her legacy lives on through the traditions she nurtured and the values she instilled.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday 6 December 2025, from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Loyless Funeral Home 5310 Land O' Lakes Blvd. We will be accepting guests at 2 PM and services will start at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society,  Lifepath Hospice or your local hospice, or Awaken Church in Tifton, Ga.
