Barbara K. Decker, 76, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, surrounded by the quiet comfort of those who loved her. Born on May 16, 1949, in Virginia and raised in upstate New York, Barbara lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

Barbara dedicated much of her life to hard work, serving as a housekeeper in several nursing homes and motels throughout the area. She took pride in what she did, and her steady presence and dependable nature were appreciated by many over the years. At the time of her passing, she was a resident of The Sentinel in Amsterdam, NY, where she was known for her warm smile and easy conversation.  

 Barbara had a deep love for Bingo-her favorite pastime. The joy she felt during those games, the friendships she made, and the laughter she shared filled her days with happiness whenever she was able to attend. She was also a devoted dog lover. Her cherished Shih Tzu, Matzo, who predeceased her, was truly her heart. Those who knew Barbara could always see the love she carried for him.

She is survived by her loving sister, Karie Shuster, who held a special place in her life and memories.

The family has chosen to honor Barbara's life privately at this time. Though no formal services will be held, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her dearly.
