It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Linda Landsberg. She passed on November 2, 2025 in her home in Chapin, South Carolina, after a long, brave struggle with Parkinson’s. Linda and her husband, David, moved to Chapin just before Covid. They made many friends through their church, St. Francis of Assisi, local community, and through actively enjoying visiting many of the local thrift shops as a local Friday tradition.
Linda was born in Mount Kisco, New York on April 18, 1942 to Rachael and Sam Levy. Her early years were spent in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, while her father served overseas in the Navy during WWII. She grew up in Shenorock, New York, a small town above Lake Shenorock, and graduated from high school in Somers, New York. She received an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Westchester Community College in 1962, followed by a Bachelor's Degree in Juvenile Criminal Studies while residing on Cape Cod, Massachusetts where she was also honored with being awarded the Presidential Honor List for Academic Excellence in 1995. Linda had interesting jobs along her journey, including as a photographer at Macy’s, Nutritionist at a New York hospital, working at several schools with special needs students, as a social worker for Children and Families on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and running a B&B in Eastham, Cape Cod with her husband, David, whom she married in 1986 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Chatham, Massachusetts.
Linda had many talents in the arts. She was an avid painter of watercolors, loved music, singing, playing the piano, was an exceptional baker and cook, grew her own herb garden, and especially loved the beach and boating with her family. She also had many pets over the years, including beloved dogs, cats, and taking in a few stray kitties, all of which she adored.
Linda was a gentle, kind soul to whom family was very important. Linda is survived by her husband, David Landsberg, and her siblings, Eloise Levy, Rebecca McVickar, and Philip Levy. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Paige Seaman. She also leaves her four children: Ricardo Montejo, Rachael Montejo McNamara (son in law, Kevin McNamara), Oscar Montejo, and Samuel Montejo (daughter in law, JoAnne Montejo), and her step daughter, Jessica Landsberg. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren: Oscar, Ricardo, Kiara, Cassandra, Hanna, Sophia, and Brielle, as well as five great-grandchildren: Cyprus, Ryden, Alena, Kingston, and Jake.
Linda will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her, her laughter will echo on Cape Cod, where she so loved living.
A Memorial Service in South Carolina is being planned for November 12, 2025 at 3:00 PM at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, 735 Old Lexington Hwy, Chapin, SC 29036. Also, there will be a Memorial Service in Massachusetts on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s of the Harbor Church, 517 Commercial St, Provincetown, MA 02657 in Provincetown, Massachusetts followed by a burial service in N. Truro at the Old North Church Cemetery, US-6 Box 367, Truro, MA 02666.
