AMSTERDAM- Charlene T. Serafin, 72, of Bayard Street, passed away on October 18, 2025 at Wilkinson RHCF in Amsterdam, following a brief illness.
Charlene was born on October 12, 1953 in Niskayuna, NY, the daughter of the late Dolores Slezak and Charles Fosmire.
She attended grade school at Immaculate Conception and Bishop Scully High for a period of time before obtaining her GED.
She worked at various stores in Amsterdam including Rite Aid, Target, Walmart and Hannaford.
Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed the company of her beloved cats Minnie and Momma.
She was a devoted Catholic who went to Sunday Mass at St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam.
Survivors include her three daughters: Marilee, Rita and Deanna; three sons: Adam, Raymond and Daniel; sisters: Patricia and Karen; brothers: Charles and Bill; grandchildren: Leonardo, Liliana, Thomas and Alex. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother Dolores, father Charles, sister Sandra and brother in law Robert.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life at a later date.
