Margaret Almasy
January 31st, 1944 - October 29th, 2025
Margaret A. Almasy, 81, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away at home on October 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with Stage 4 cancer.
Born Margaret Schneider on January 31, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, she lived a full and vibrant life marked by devotion to family, service to her community, and a spirit of adventure. Over the years, Margaret embraced many roles — homemaker, retail clerk, hospital biller, and, in one of her proudest chapters, a race car driver. She retired twenty years ago, having earned the respect and admiration of all who knew her.
Margaret was deeply involved in her community and took great pride in her memberships. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and the Reserve Officer’s Wives Club, and a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she achieved the distinguished rank of Grand Worthy Matron. Her leadership and compassion left a lasting legacy among her peers and friends.
In December 1990, Margaret married the love of her life, Emery Almasy, in San Bernardino, California. Together they shared many happy years filled with laughter, travel, and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted husband, loving daughter, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her warmth, humor, and unconditional love.
A memorial service honoring Margaret’s life will be held at All-Veterans Funeral on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her.
