Patricia Falkner
February 7th, 1947 - November 9th, 2025
Pat Falkner passed away on November 9, 2025. A native Charlottean, Pat spent all of her 78 years living in or around the same East Charlotte zip code. She graduated from Garinger High School in 1965, and married Lem Falkner that same week.
After starting her career at Honeywell and Paul B. Williams Inc., Pat worked for many years at First Union and its successor banks where she was known for her attention to detail and unwavering reliability. Her strong, quiet faith was at her core - she was raised at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, then was a member of St. Andrew’s and St. Martin’s Episcopal Churches through her adult life.
Pat was shy but kind. Friends sometimes called her the nicest woman on Earth. If you visited her home, she’d likely figured out your favorite beverage and had it chilling in the fridge before you arrived. Her proudest role was as a mother to her daughter, Trish (who she always called Dawn), and a doting grandmother to her four beautiful grandchildren. She found her greatest happiness supporting their lives, sharing quiet moments, and keeping them close in her heart.
Pat enjoyed stories - reading and television were favorite pastimes. She especially delighted in reading magical tales or watching sci-fi shows and discussing them with her family. The beach occupied part of Pat’s soul, evidenced by the multitude of seashells she collected on annual family beach vacations and displayed throughout her home.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Lem; her daughter, Trish and husband Doug Sheridan; and her grandchildren, Isaac, Zayna, Paige, and Evan Sheridan. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Maynard Ellenburg.
Services will be held at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, November 22 at 2:00pm, 1510 E. 7th Street, with reception to follow. A private burial will be held at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to any charity of your choosing that serves those in need, continuing her legacy of quiet generosity
