Doris Jean Zeller
July 15th, 1934 - November 9th, 2025
Doris Jean Zeller, 91, of Hazen, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. She was born on July 15, 1934 to Paul and Hilda Miller.
She married the love of her life, Eldon Zeller, on September 28, 1952. They began their married life on the Miller family farm, and after welcoming their first two children, moved to Olympia, Washington. There, Doris lovingly raised their family of seven children while working as a licensing supervisor for the Washington State Department of Licensing. She retired in 1984.
After retirement, Doris and Eldon enjoyed traveling in their RV, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Her gentle smile, steady patience, kindness, and deep love for others touched everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Eldon; her son-in-law, Pedro Bidot; and her grandson, Joseph Bidot. She is survived by her children: Bruce (Beth) Zeller, Terry (Lori) Zeller, Elizabeth (Mark) Gordon, Cary Bidot, Lori (Jay) Barney, Jeff (Dana) Zeller, and Kevin (Elisa) Zeller; along with her beloved grandchildren (20), great-grandchildren (34), and great-great-grandchildren (17).
She adored her family and her puppy, Petey. Doris especially cherished family gatherings, where she delighted in serving traditional German dishes. Her warm hugs and bright smiles will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Olympia on Saturday, November 22, at 1 p.m. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial gifts to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for local benevolence.
Her family extends heartfelt thanks to all who cared for her in her final days. Doris’s legacy of love, joy, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
