Kenneth “Ken” Potucek of Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on November 2nd, 2025, with his loving family present. Ken was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on June 23rd, 1939. He was baptized as an infant in Oregon and later confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tucson on September 14th, 1969. Ken met the love of his life, Helen, in 1962 while stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix Arizona. Ken and Helen were married for over 62 years.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Bryce Taylor. He is survived by wife Helen Potucek, daughter Marilyn Taylor, daughter Sharon Flint, son Guy Potucek (JoAnne Dukeshire), grandchildren Lyndsey Taylor-Espinoza (Alejandro Espinoza), Brady Flint, Ryan Flint, and Violet Potucek.

In 1957, Ken joined the Air Force where he proudly served his country for 22 years. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, Ken worked at Southland Corporation as a maintenance technician for 16 years. Ken then worked at Rural Metro doing non-emergency patient transport for several years. During his time at Southland Corporation and Rural Metro Ken enjoyed taking tickets at Arizona Athletics sporting events. Ken supported the Arizona Wildcats both at the front gates and as a spectator for over 30 years. Most recently, Ken was a volunteer at St. Joseph’s and worked in outpatient surgery for the last 22 years.

One of Ken’s primary joys in life was making rings out of $2 bills and giving them to anyone with whom he crossed paths. These rings provided connection within the Tucson community as well as creating a lasting impact on those he met through his many road trips and travels with his family over the years. Ken also enjoyed reading, cheering on the Arizona Wildcats, and spending time with his family, including showing no mercy at family game night. Above all, he cherished time spent with his loved ones, creating memories filled with laughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Online Donations for Holy Cross Lutheran Church – Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Courtney's Courage in Ken’s memory.
