On November 7, 2025, Nguyen, Thi Cam Loan, aged 41, passed away at home with several family members at her side.

Loan was residing in Winter Haven, Florida having moved here in September 2015. She grew up in Vinh Long, Vietnam where she had graduated High School, met her husband Sonny, married and gave birth to her son Jimmy.

Loan was a kind, caring and giving person.  She moved to the US just a mere 10 years ago with all intensions of living her best possible life with her new family and watching her son Jimmy grow up and become successful. She was smart and very observant, so she learned quickly.  She assimilated into the American life and was successful in her own way by fighting an impossible disease, while holding down up to 3 part time jobs which provided additional support for her husband and son. She also helped around the house of her new American family, Griff and Gloria Griffin. Between doctor appointments, surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments, she became a US citizen, learned to drive, passed the driving test and started working.

She loved to cook and share her cooking talents with others. Eggrolls, spring rolls, soup (Pho), and pork ribs on rice were some of her favorites to cook for friends and family. Her personal recipes were highly desired by all those who ate them. She loved to laugh so when people asked for the recipes, she always smiled and showed them the recipes from her handwritten recipe book. It was, we believe, an intentionally, cryptic combination of Vietnamese, English, circles, arrows and special doodles that made it impossible to read by anyone but her.

She enjoyed all things that Jimmy was involved in like Taekwondo, Soccer, and of course when he played the piano. She also enjoyed video chats from Vietnam with her Vietnamese family almost every day. She looked forward to the American family annual summer vacation either at the beach or in the mountains where the all the Griffin family members met from all over the US for a week. Everyone anxiously awaited for her spring rolls that week.

She always said she was lucky that she came to the US, into our family and had so many  great friends, but I contend that we, all who knew her, all that met her, all that had spent just minutes with her are the lucky ones. She is now and will always be missed and Heaven is greater for having her up there.

She is survived by her husband, Sonny; her son, Jimmy; her father, Giau; her mother, Phuoc; her sister, Cam Tu; her brother, Vinh; her brother, Thinh; as well as many, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
