Paula Ann Shilkett
September 11th, 1939 - November 14th, 2025
Shilkett, Paula (nee Lestock) of Sun City Center passed away November 14, 2025, at her apartment in St. Petersburg. Born in Cleveland, OH in 1939 she was an Alumnus of Miami University (OH) and Case Western Reserve working as a child psychologist, teacher and vocational evaluator in Ohio, New Jersey and Florida.
Paula is preceded in death by her father Paul (Bay Village, OH 1970) and mother Helen Burr Lestock (Chardon, OH 1983). She is also preceded by late husband, C. W. Shilkett (Sun City Center, FL 2018) and sister Lenore Sherck (Moreland Hills, OH 2021). Paula is survived by 2 sons, James and William, as well as 4 grandchildren, Jonah, Gil, Charlie, and Charlotte. Her remaining brother-in-law, Gary Sherck can be found hiking in Moreland Hills, OH, and niece and nephew, Susan Burr (Seattle, WA) and Jack Sherck (Franklin, TN) remember her fondly as well.
Paula led a life of service to others. She co-authored a Ford Foundation study on teen pregnancy in urban centers in the mid-1960s. She was a Sunday school teacher at Clinton Presbyterian Church (NJ) and a deacon in the Sun City Center United Methodist Church later on, providing communion to members in nursing homes. Paula Shilkett was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother whose passion for education was her life's work. She is dearly missed by those that knew her.
