Darren Scot Rose
December 3rd, 1983 - November 11th, 2025
Good talk!
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our son, Darren “Scot” Rose, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Scot’s earliest joy in life was debating where he won numerous state and national awards.
Later moving to Norfolk, Virginia, Scot became involved in the improv group, Push Comedy, where his humor and creativity were encouraged by his mentor, Brad McMurran. Scot was involved in this comedy group until his professional career caused him to leave behind his love of theatre.
Scot spent his last professional years working with MCR Hotel Management Group based in Dallas, Texas and New York City, New York, under the guidance of Kim Aviles. He was recently promoted to Vice President director of sales.
In October 2025, Scot made the decision to move to the Charleston, SC area with only his books, Elizabeth Taylor memorabilia and bed. With his decorating talent, Scot proudly purchased and completely furnished his first home in less than a month.
Scot is preceded in death by his grandfather, Eddie Rose, of Claremore, Oklahoma, and grandmother, Ruby Hayes of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. He is survived by his mother and father, Linda and Brent Rose, of Santee, South Carolina; sister, Kathy Verrey of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three nieces, Amber, Chelsea, and Jessica; and grandmother, Jeannette Rose, of Claremore, Oklahoma.
Memorial services will be held at the Push Comedy Theatre in Norfolk, Virginia, at a future date and time to be announced. Memorials can be made to the Push Comedy Theatre, 763 Granby Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510.
“No farewell words were spoken. There was no time to say goodbye. You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why.”
