On June 9, 1943, the world welcomed Daisy Mae Cousar in Trenton, New Jersey, born to Rev. Johnnie Glover and Jannie Hampton. She spent her earliest years in Gable, South Carolina, where she was lovingly adopted by her aunt and uncle, Muldrow and Margaret Burgess. Surrounded by family, she grew up alongside her cousin-siblings—Alena Graham, William Burgess, Alexander Burgess, and Muldrow Burgess Jr.—and received her education through the Clarendon County School System.

As a young woman, Daisy relocated to Stuart, Florida, and later made her permanent home in Fort Pierce, Florida. There she raised her four children and built a life rooted in love, service, and faith. She worked in the medical field and poured her heart into fostering children before accepting her calling into ministry. Daisy served as an evangelist and was later appointed pastor of the Holy of Holiness Tabernacle of Jesus Christ, where she faithfully led for more than two decades.

Her ministry reached far beyond the pulpit. For over 14 years, she shared the gospel within Rock Road Jail in Fort Pierce, offering hope, encouragement, and the love of Christ to those in need. Daisy’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith and her sincere desire to live in a way that honored the Lord.

A visionary and entrepreneur, Daisy owned and operated two residential care homes in Fort Pierce known as The New Life Residential Facility. She also ran several thrift stores, where she displayed and sold her handmade hats and jewelry. Whenever her health allowed, she embraced her creative gifts through sewing and writing.

On November 7, 2025, in Vero Beach, Florida, Daisy completed her earthly journey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cousar; her parents, Rev. Johnnie Glover and Jannie Hampton; her adopted parents, her aunt and uncle, Muldrow and Margaret Burgess; her brothers Johnnie James Jr., Alphonso Glover, and Sylvester Glover; her sister Ethel Mae (Glover) Gooden; her cousin-siblings William Burgess and Muldrow Burgess Jr.; and her grandson Randy Lamont Burns.

Carrying her memory forward are her beloved siblings, Alexander Burgess and Alena Graham, along with her devoted children:

• Richard (Fredricka) Pearson of Fort Pierce, FL

• Linda Pearson of Fort Pierce, FL

• Everly (Cookie) Pearson of Fort Lauderdale, FL

• Anthony (Alexis Williams) Pearson of Harlem, GA

She is survived and cherished by her grandchildren: Denise Pearson, Shanta Cameron, Willie Cameron Jr., Clyde Riggins III, Deona Pearson, Anthony Pearson, Jerimiah Pearson, Quadellanecia (DeeDee) (Orlando) Watson, and David Harriell, and daughter in love, Zeobia. Daisy’s legacy continues through her 17 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.

Though Daisy has departed this earthly life, the seeds of faith, love, and resilience she planted will continue to grow in the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
