Lacricia Coffey passed away at the age of 73, on October 9, 2025, in Seattle, Washington. Born on January 21, 1952, in Tacoma, Washington, she lived a life marked by quiet strength, creativity, and deep devotion to her family and passions.

Lacricia's love for animals started from an early age due to the exposure she received as a child from her father Wallace Greer, who at the time was the Director of the Point Defiance Zoo located in Tacoma, Washington.

A proud graduate of Curtis High School in June 1970, Lacricia began her professional journey with Home Interiors. Her natural eye for beauty and design made her a successful saleswoman for many years. Around the same time as Lacricia was starting her professional journey, she married the love of her life Edward Coffey, Jr. on October 4, 1970, and was with him until he drew his last breath.

Later, she followed her heart into a new venture that would become one of the defining chapters of her life—founding Crystal Cavern's American Eskimos. For over three decades, she was actively showing and breeding of American Eskimos, a breed she adored. Her dedication earned her not only recognition but also the affectionate nickname from her family as the "Puppy Pimp."

Lacricia’s love for animals was matched by her passion for crafting and gardening. Whether it was creating something beautiful with her hands or nurturing life from the soil, she found joy in the simple yet meaningful acts of creation and care.

She was known among those closest to her as a quiet listener—someone who offered not just an ear but thoughtful guidance when life presented its inevitable challenges. Her calm presence and steady support helped many navigate difficult times with grace.

Lacricia is lovingly remembered by her daughters DeAnna Coffey and Lynette Zukowski; grandchildren Amethyst Arroyo, Tristin Lees, Jacob Beritich, Destiney Dean, Micahl Dean, and Jeremiah Beritich. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Coffey Jr.; sister Jacklyn Shephard and parents Wallace and Betty Greer.

Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched—both human and canine—and through the enduring love of those who knew her best.

Lacricia was also known for her strict belief that we needed to take care of what we have and to make sure we always cleaned up after ourselves and keep our rooms clean. Now we are having to clean our rooms again but this time it’s not our stuff.

May her memory bring comfort to all who cherished her. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 23, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Tacoma Sportsmans Club 16409 Canyon Road East.
