Roger Lee Poole, a lifelong resident of Mesa, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by his children.
Born on July 28, 1931, to Lee and Flossie Poole, Roger was the eldest of six children. He attended Mesa High School, where he proudly contributed to the 1950 state championship track and field team. Shortly thereafter, he honorably served his country as a Marine during the Korean War.
In 1953, Roger married Ardith, beginning a loving partnership that endured for more than 63 years. Together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering companionship.
Roger began his career in the telephone industry as a pole climber with Mountain Bell and retired in 1986 as a management supervisor. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Club and deeply involved with Shriners International. An avid golfer, Roger cherished time spent with family and friends, finding joy in both simple moments and shared adventures.
He is survived by his sister, Helen; his three children, Pam (Carlos), Rocky (Carmen), and Tami; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his spirit of kindness, resilience, and love.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald, Mesa, followed by a reception at Sunland Village East, 2615 S. Farnsworth Dr., Building 6, Sedona Room.
Roger will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his devotion to family, his service to his country, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
