It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred Leonard Williams, age 86, who departed this life on November 19, 2025, in Lizella, Georgia. A visitation will be held in honor of Fred on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, followed by a service at 11:00 AM in the chapel. Fred will be laid to rest at Parkway Memorial Gardens, 720 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
Born on December 20, 1938, in Bonaire, Georgia, Fred was a man of exceptional character and unwavering devotion to his family and community. A hardworking entrepreneur, Fred was the proud owner and operator of Middle Georgia Wrecker Service, where he earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Besides his professional achievements, he was a devoted family man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as deep-sea fishing and lake fishing. Known for his loyalty and consideration, Fred also took great pride in maintaining a well-manicured lawn, mowing his grass daily to ensure it was always pristine.
Fred was the beloved husband to Connie Williams for 37 wonderful years, sharing a life filled with love and cherished memories. Together, they raised a family that includes their children, Dianne Fleck, Pam (Lee) Knight, Renee (Danny) Brantley, Derrill (Ellen) Williams, Tony (Meg) Nico, and Chris Nico. He also found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to 16 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 16 great-grandchildren.
Fred's passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by his surviving siblings: Jean Bass, Karen Edwards, and Bobby (Diane) Williams, as well as numerous relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas N. Williams and Beatrice Perdue Williams; his beloved son, Peter Nico; and several siblings, including R.A., Bo, Richard, James, Earl, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Susie, and Sara.
The legacy of Fred Leonard Williams is one of love, dedication, and generosity. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be missed dearly but never forgotten.
