Peter Addison Gillett of Tucson Arizona passed away peacefully at the age of 85, on October 4th, 2025 after a couragous battle with cancer.

Pete was born in Tunbridge Wells, England, on June 15, 1940. Shortly after completing his Mining  Engineering degree, Pete left England to launch his carreer in Canada. Finding great success and further opportunities, his work eventually took him to several different locations in the United States, as well as an extended stint in the Phillapines. After his return to the United States, Pete eventually settled and etired in Tucson.

Pete was known for his dry sense of humor and his plethera of jokes. He was good natured and a loyal friend who people reddily liked. He established lifelong friendships with several mining colleages, British ex-pats, and the many friends in his Snooker circles. When it came to his home, Pete was always a welcoming host.

Family was very important to Pete. He was a proud father of both his children and step-children. Pete was also a wonderful husband.

Pete was predececed by his previous wife of 29 years, Pat, the mother of his step-children; Penny, his children’s mother; as well as his parents, Kenneth Gillett and Kathleen Addison (nee Garfield) Gillett; and a long-time friend, Barry Watson. Left to mourn his passing are: Pete’s loving wife of 11 years, Barb; his sister, Mary Lane, of England; his daughter, Patricia (Kenny) Gillett-Boyles; his son, Paul (Julie) Gillett and their children, Gavin, Hayden, Keely, Aubrey and Logan; his step-daughters, Dana (Nick) Disantis and Lana Abba, and their families; as well as Pete and Barb’s very special friend, Steve Phillips.

At Pete’s request, there will not be a formal funeral service, however, Pete’s Celebration of Life will be held on November 23rd, 2025, at 2:00 pm – 6pm at Pete and Barb’s home. Everyone who knew him is welcome to stop by.
