March 17, 1964 – November 18, 2025

Sharon King, age 61, passed away on November 18, 2025, in Roseville, California, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on March 17, 1964, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Marlene Whaley (McDonald) and James McDonald.

Sharon is survived by her beloved son, Garrett King, and his wife, Cara; her cherished granddaughters, Tori and Leah King; her brother, Jim McDonald, his wife, Catherine, and their son, Stuart; as well as many dear friends and extended family members who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Sharon built a meaningful career as a case analyst at Mule Creek State Prison, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. Her colleagues respected her deeply, and her commitment to her work reflected the same strength and integrity she carried throughout her life. Those who knew Sharon remember her as strong, independent, kind, generous, easygoing, and a true joy to be around. She had a warm spirit and a natural ability to make others feel cared for and supported. She loved her friends and family with her whole heart, and she showed that love in countless ways. Some of Sharon's most cherished moments were spent as "Mimi" with her granddaughters, Tori and Leah. She loved finding cute outfits for them, planning fun activities, and creating special memories together. Being their Mimi brought her immeasurable joy. Sharon also treasured quality time with her family. Whether she was helping out on the ranch, cooking delicious meals, taking her son to cattle shows, supporting a local fundraiser, or sharing a good laugh on the porch, she embraced every moment with gratitude and love.

An open house-style Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Amador County Fairgrounds. All who knew and loved Sharon are welcome to attend and share in remembering her beautiful life. Sharon will be deeply missed, and her love, strength, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Sharon may be made to an organization of your choice.
