Richard R. LaMar was born on February 9, 1950, and peacefully left this earth on November 18, 2025. His final wish was to be at home, surrounded by his loving family, in the comfort of his happy home and the beautiful views he cherished.

Born in Superior, Wisconsin to Raymond and Ruby LaMar, Richard was the youngest of three children. In 1952, he traveled by train with his mother and two older sisters, Pat and Donna, to reunite with his father in Ash Valley, Oregon. Throughout his life, Richard lived in many places, including Scottsburg, Mapleton, Gold Beach, Portland and Eugene, Oregon; San Jose, California; Whidbey Island and Edmonds, Washington—where he spent 34 years—followed by Sun City, Arizona and Ocean Shores, Washington.

Richard owned and operated City Radiator and Auto Repair with his daughter for 18 years. Together, they provided trusted and professional automotive service to countless customers who often became friends.

An avid outdoorsman, Richard found joy in fishing, camping, scuba diving, white water rafting, golfing and traveling. He loved music, classic cars and trucks, adventure, and most of all, he loved life.

Richard is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pamela B. LaMar; daughter, Racheal E. Barnhouse; son, Jason Kalka; son-in-law, Daniel Barnhouse; granddaughters, Adelynn and Olivia Edwards; Sisters Pat Rabitoy(John), Donna Ankeny and many nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and dearly loved him.

Though he has left this world, the love Richard gave so freely will continue to live on in his family and in everyone whose life he touched. His presence will be felt in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the moments he helped create.
