Mr. Harold “Ray” Raymond Chrapowicz, age 79, a resident of Auburndale, Florida formerly of Macungie, Pennsylvania, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, at Savannah Cottage of Lakeland with his son at his side. Mr. Chrapowicz was born February 23, 1946, in Heppenheim, Germany to Tania Chrapowicz. Ray moved to the United States when he was a child and settled in Pennsylvania. He was a resident of Auburndale since 2018 coming from Allentown, Pennsylvania. Ray retired as a Master Sergeant for the United States Army after a distinguished 21-year career, that included a tour in the Vietnam War. Ray and his late wife Pam eventually moved to Auburndale, Florida to enjoy retirement and a relaxing life. They met during high school and created a loving family with 2 children, being a military family, they lived in quite a few places and made many friends along the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepdad – Anthony Mazetis; wife of 58 years – Pamela Jean Chrapowicz (2024); daughter – Sandra “Sandy” Chrapowicz and 2 sisters – Laura Starke and Elaine Brodowski. Ray is survived by his loving & devoted family, son – James “Jim” Chrapowicz and wife Kristin; brother – Anthony “Tony” Mazetis and wife Karen; 2 grandsons – Ryan & Alex. A military funeral will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
