On November, 22, 2025, our beloved mother and Mimi, Kay Lee Chambers, was called home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 60. She passed away peacefully in Charlotte, surrounded by family who loved her dearly. Born on January, 8, 1965, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Kay Lee was a woman of deep faith whose life reflected her love for Jesus, her family, and her church.
She was a loving mother to her daughter Tawni Chambers and son Jarrett Chambers and his wife Meg Chambers. She was Mimi to 5 grandchildren, Charlotte, David, Logan, Olivette, and Dean. She is survived by her father David Crunk, stepmother Susan Crunk, sister Rachel Hunt and husband Michael Hunt, and their daughter Harper. Her brother Ed Wheat and wife Rachel Wheat along with their 5 children Jamie, Lizzie, Ethan, Elora, and EJ.
Kay Lee’s legacy of love, prayer, and strength will continue in the lives of all her knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at Central Church on December 11, 2025 at 4:00pm, as we give thanks for her life and the blessed hope of being reunited in Christ.

Whittington took the reins of the Crouch Funeral Home. The growth of our service and the community's support led to our move in March 1963 to the current location—once St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, built in 1930. Our chapel, a cherished historic landmark within the storied Dilworth neighborhood, is renowned for being the only funeral home in Charlotte graced with its own chapel, echoing with decades of history and serenity....
