Patricia Hoeddinghaus, 81, of Davenport, FL, went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2025. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Emmet Eugene and Mary Catherine Huffman Hoeddinghaus. Patricia moved to Florida in 1982 from Quincy, Illinois. She worked as an interior designer for 15 years, with JCPenney being one of the companies she proudly served. She later spent nearly a decade working at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, retiring in 2020. Patricia was a devoted member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration, FL.

Patricia had a natural passion for teaching and mentoring others. She served as a substitute teacher and worked as a physical educator and coach at a girls’ high school in Quincy, Illinois. Athletic and creative, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, deco patching (scrapbooking), and interior designing. She loved watching television—especially Zoo-related programs—and had a deep affection for animals, including cats, dogs, and birds. She also adored flowers, especially roses. Patricia will be remembered as a happy, loving, selfless woman who cherished her family above all else.

She is preceded in death by her father, Emmet Eugene Yowell; mother, Mary Catherine Huffman Sleyster; stepfather, Julius Orville Sleyster; brother, Joe Yowell; and her beloved daughter, Susan Elizabeth Hoeddinghaus. Patricia leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 59 years, Joseph Henry Hoeddinghaus; sons, Tim and Christopher Hoeddinghaus, both of Davenport, FL; siblings, Thomas (Jennifer) Yowell of Clermont, FL, and Kathie Conquest of Des Moines, OH; sister-in-law, Evelyn Yowell of Texas; and her grandson, Matthew Hoeddinghaus of Davenport, FL.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 1st, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., all at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration, FL. Final resting place will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Kissimmee, FL.
