Dorothy Landgren passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Aston Gardens in Venice, FL following a wonderful life. Dorothy was born August 18, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Robley and Winifred Morgan. She is preceded in death by Verner Landgren, her daughter Laura (Landgren) Giesler and granddaughter Kate Kwasny. Dorothy attended Iowa Wesleyan University, where she developed her curiosity for the world and shared her friendly personality. After raising her four children, Linda (Mike) Kwasny, Roy Landgren, Leslie (Brian) Schoettes, and Laura (Eric) Geisler, Dorothy traveled with her husband of 61 years, Vern, visiting five continents. Gram, as she was affectionately known to her 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, spent the second half of her life celebrating her family's special occasions, including baking homemade birthday cakes with Gram’s special frosting. Dorothy was known for being an ambassador at Aston Gardens welcoming new residents, participating in various activities for the many years she lived there and she was quick to share jewelry, decor and more if she thought you had the perfect use.
A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends at a later date.
