Hershalene (Hershey) Cox passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, at the age of 84, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Hershey was born August 7, 1941 in Houston, Texas to Hersal and Marguerite Smith. Hershey was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as a cherished member of the community.
Hershey graduated from Smiley High School in Houston, and went on to study English at Sam Houston State University. She married her husband, Robert (Bob) Cox, on June 29, 1963, and called him dear and babe for the entirety of their 62 year marriage. She had a passion for traveling alongside her husband and her lifelong friends Pat Vermillion and Judy Johnson.
Hershalene is survived by her husband, Bob, of 62 years, her child Shannon, his wife Tonya, and Davin; also survived by her grandchildren Ashton, Steven, Savannah, her husband Cannon, & Callan, and her great-grandchildren Venson, Chris, Ella, Jasper, & Dawson. Hershey was preceded in death by her parents Hershal and Marguerite Smith, and her younger brother Ron Smith.
A memorial service will be held at The Springs Funeral Services on 3115 E. Platte Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 on January 9th from 10:00AM to 11:00AM.
